Onsite Xbox HDMI Port Repair in Edmonton

We hear it constantly: the Xbox powers on, the fan's going, the light's on, and the TV just sits there on "no signal" or black. On the Series X, Series S and Xbox One, the number one culprit is a damaged HDMI port, a bent or missing pin, a port that's been knocked loose, or a cracked solder joint on the board, usually after a cable got bumped while it was plugged in. The console's almost always fine. It just needs the port fixed, and that's a fraction of what a new one costs.

Doing it properly means microsoldering, lifting the damaged port off the motherboard and soldering a new one back in its place. It's fine, precise work, not a part you can just clip in, and it's what we're set up for. We bring it to you anywhere in Edmonton, so you're not shipping a console halfway across the country or leaving it at a counter for a week while your setup sits dark.

You get a straight diagnosis and a price first, and unlike the mail-in shops, there's nothing to pay just to have it looked at. We test it before we leave and back the new port with a workmanship warranty. Want to read up on console faults first? Check our console troubleshooting guide or our Edmonton console repair guide.

How to Tell if Your Xbox HDMI Port Is the Problem

A couple of quick checks will tell you (and us) a lot before you book:

1. Shine a flashlight into the Xbox's HDMI port. Look for the thin plastic tongue with metal pins along the top and bottom. If any are bent, snapped off, or shoved toward the back, that port's physically damaged and needs repairing.

2. Try a different cable, TV and input. Plug the Xbox straight into the TV, skip the soundbar or receiver, and use a cable you know works. If it runs fine on another setup but not yours, the cable or that TV input might be the real problem.

3. Watch what the power does. If the Xbox comes on and stays on but gives you no picture on a good cable and TV, it's usually the HDMI port. If it shuts off by itself, won't turn on, or runs hot and cuts out, that's a different fault, and we fix those too.

Not sure what you're seeing? Send a photo of the port or just tell us what it's doing, and we'll give you our honest read, HDMI, cable, or something else, before you commit to anything.

★★★★★

"Our Xbox Series X suddenly showed no signal and the kids were devastated. He came right to us, spotted the bent HDMI pins, and soldered in a new port the same visit. Way cheaper than replacing it and so easy not having to ship it anywhere. Honest and really good at what he does."

Xbox HDMI Repair Edmonton FAQs

Grab a flashlight and look inside the port on the console. There's a plastic tongue with metal pins along the top and bottom, and if any are bent, missing or pushed to the back, that's the damage. If your Xbox comes on and stays on but gives you a black screen or "no signal" on a cable and TV you know work, it's almost always the HDMI port.
We work on the Xbox Series X, Series S and Xbox One (One S and One X too), HDMI ports and other faults. Not sure which one you've got? Just describe it and we'll figure it out with you.
Plug the Xbox straight into your TV, skip the soundbar or receiver, and try a different cable. If it runs fine at your friend's but not at home, it might be your cable, your TV input or the receiver rather than the console. We'll help you narrow it down, for free, before you book.
Way cheaper, it's a fraction of what a new console runs, and your games, saves and storage all stay put. We'll give you the price upfront so you can weigh it up, and it costs nothing to find out.
We come to you. A tech turns up at your place anywhere in Edmonton and the surrounding towns and does the repair onsite where we can, so there's no mailing your Xbox off and no week-long wait at a drop-off shop.
